Our trainers

Personnel working for The Fire Training Group are all trained according to their role.  This helps the organisation to ensure that all tasks are undertaken and completed efficiently and correctly; this includes our trainers and support staff.  This in turn helps our compliance with ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System (QMS).

Once our learners leave our training centre they must be able to operate safely and effectively, whatever their work environment and in any conditions or situations.  It is vital that our trainers not only have the appropriate subject knowledge required to deliver effective training, but that they can deliver sound effective training that will help keep our learners safe in their work place.

To this end we select trainers who will be able to help us to facilitate effective training and who have the ability to keep abreast of new developments through industry updating and further development and training.  Our trainers must therefore deliver training in line with the standards required by our customers and relevant bodies such as OPITO, MCA and CAA.  Additionally, they must operate at the required level of the National Occupational Standards (NOS) in Learning and Development (L&D).  Our trainers do so, and as part of our ISO 9001:2008 QMS are evaluated against the L&D NOS on a regular basis, thereby ensuring that training delivery standards are being maintained.  During assessments the requirements of the NOS are regularly exceeded.

Assessment of staff competence is assessed both internally and by external bodies.

RFFS Supervisor Revalidation
